How this tool works

This tool uses the same calculation module as the Daily Look app. First your birth date becomes a chart, and the chart gives its helpful element - the element that brings the whole mix back toward the middle. It is the same element the Day Master calculator shows.

Next it counts what today brings: 1 for today's stem, 1 for today's branch, 0.5 for the hidden stems inside that branch and 0.5 for the month branch, which is the season. Your chart (75%) and today (25%) are mixed to see how full your helpful element is.

Then the day is read as one of four cases. If today brings the helpful element itself: let it flow - the colours of the element it feeds. If today brings the element that checks it: build a bridge - the colours of the element standing between the two. If the helpful element is still short: fill up - its own colours. Otherwise: support - the colours of the element that feeds it.

The three colours to wear come from the element chosen that way and its partner element. The colours to skip come from the element that checks today's colour, the element today's colour gives its strength to, an element that already came in plenty, and - when the chart reads warm or cool - Fire or Water colours. Which element a colour belongs to follows the table the app uses when it reads the colour of your clothes.

The same birth date on the same day gives the same answer all day; the weather and the hour are not part of it. Your birth date never leaves this browser, and the share card carries only the date and the colours. With "Remember on this device" on, the finder uses the same profile as the other tools.

This is traditional theory for lifestyle reference. The weather and the occasion come first, and none of it is advice about health or money.

Questions

Why are today's colours different from yesterday's?
Each day has its own stem and branch, so each day brings different elements. Your chart stays the same; what is most useful today is worked out again every day.
Must I avoid the colours to skip?
No. Read them as "wear less". A black coat on a cold day is fine - the weather and the occasion come first.
Do I need my birth time?
No. The date is enough. A time adds the hour pillar, which makes the element balance a little more precise.
